Moving a Site Here

Moving your site here from Duncan (or anywhere else) is easy.

All you need to do is download the site from the previous server and upload it to this one.

Download the site from the previous server.

The process of retrieving a website from another server varies from server to server, but in general it can be downloaded to your computer in the same fashion it was uploaded to the server in the first place.  On Duncan this was done with FTP. 

Here are instructions on how to download from Duncan to your computer.

  1. Using your FTP program, connect to duncan.cup.edu.
  2. Log in using your student id and Duncan password.  
    *NOTE* Your Duncan password is reset to your social security number at the beginning of every semester.  Also note that your Duncan password is not always the same as your NT password.
  3. Change your directory to your web directory.  This is very important.  Your web directory on Duncan was webpage:
  4. Get the files from Duncan to your computer.  How to do this depends on your ftp program.

Upload your site to this server.
