On this page I am going to tell you about my favorite sports teams and players and my experience with sports growing up.
Sports have been a big part of my life since I was five years old. I first started playing t-ball for three years then moved on midget league, where I was always the only girl on the team. I eventually started to hate playing with only boys and moved on to a girls softball league the following year. I was starting second base and in the top three hitters until I stopped playing softball my freshman year of high school to focus on another sport. When I was 7, I started playing soccer. At first, I was horrible and hated it but within a year, I had grown to absolutely love it. I played in several indoor and outdoor leagues and was on my high school girls varsity team all four years of high school. Above is a picture of me and two of my friends on our soccer senior night in 2005. There were also a few years in there when I played basketball and track. Although I chose not to play any sports in college, sports are still a big part of my life.

Since I have been surrounded with sports for the majority of my life, I guess I can not help but be a professional sports fan. I am a die hard Pittsburgh fan. My #1 team is definitely the Pittsburgh Steelers. I will pick them over any other team in the world. I cry when they win the Super Bowl and I cry when we lose big games. It truly ruins my day if the Steelers lose a game.
I also am a big Pittsburgh Penguins fan.
I might have a little crush on Sidney Crosby as well. The Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pittsburgh Panthers are my favorites too but my heart definitely belongs to the Steelers.
Heath Miller and Hines Ward are my two favorite Steelers player. In my opinion, Heath Miller has the potential to be one of the best tight ends in the league if Big Ben would throw him the ball more often. He is a very reliable player and when the ball is thrown to him, he rarely messes up. He's so big that it's hard to tackle him! And Hines Ward is just awesome. He makes so many of his opponents mad when he plays because no matter what happens in the play, there's a good chance Hines is going to get up with a smile on his face. Whenever the Steelers need a big play, they just have to find Hines.
Sidney Crosby is definitely my favorite Penguin player. The Pens are extremely lucky to have drafted him. He is one of the most highly regarded draft picks in hockey history. In October 2008, at the age of 21, he has passed the benchmark of 100 goals, 200 assists, and 300 total points for his career.
