Introduction

            When designing your class project you will have to choose what wood will suit your needs.  This lesson will give you information on types of wood and how to square up a board. 

Directions: 

1. Go to “Types of Wood” and read the definitions.

2. Next, look at the different examples of hard and soft wood, noting their characteristics and uses.

3. Then read over “Common Wood Defects”.

4. After, reading over the common wood defects move onto “Process for Squaring up a Board.”

5. After you have read through all of the sections move onto the test.

6. Finally print out test and answer questions.

7. Hand in when finished.
