Book Cover

In the book cover project, we were given the task of creating a book concept and cover for the title "In the Wind". I did not want to take the typical and literal route, so I decided to make mine a horror novel that ran parallel to the "Night of the Living Dead" movie. I used a super black as the background to establish the dark feeling and red to symbolize blood (death). I then used found images of zombies and a graveyard and made them negatives to symbolize not only the complete opposition between them and normal humans, but also the though of being "soul less". I used a serif text that appeared weathered and commanding to create the terror feel that a horror novel should have and stroked it wit red to unify it with the image. Lastly, I added my personal logo with the word "books" to the spine and back just to personalize it a bit more.
