Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy consists of many different aspects within the game of golf. On this page, you will be given my basic philosophy of golf. This part of my philosophy is for beginner golfers to intermediate golfers. If you are interested in golf, and wanting to learn how to play, im sure that my quick tips and my philosophy will help you better understand the game.

My Quick Tips

Grip

The grip has a great influence on where the ball will be going off the clubface during the swing. Try to imatate the pictures above, as well as the "V" created by both hands.

Alignment

Having correct alignment is vital to any type of golf shot.  From the driver, and all the way down to the putter, if the student is able to correctly position him/herself in line with the desired target, the ball will be able to at least start out on the correct path.  If a problem occurs with alignment, what I like to use to help promote correct alignment is to place two clubs on the ground.  With one being placed straight and parallel where the feet are directed and another club placed on the ground, pointing perpendicular on the ground.  What this does is that it helps the student realize the path of where he or she is actually aiming at.  It also helps in getting the student to imagine these two lines being shot straight out and towards the intended target.  Also, having the shoulders being square down the target line, is a great indication of where the student is aiming as well.

Swing Plane/Swing Path

The swing plane can be looked at in the sense that it could be a single or double (two) planed.  I will teach the student according to how comfortable the student is with each swing, and what I personally think what swing plane they should obtain (size, weight, etc. of student depends on this).  I will video each student and show them their own swing plane.  With this, I will also show them other swing planes of golfers.  This will make it much easier for the student to compare his/her own swing with theirs and to see what kind of mistakes or accomplishments they made with their swing.
